​Familiar Strangers takes its title from the social psychologist Stanley Milgram: the people we see every day on the same tram, at the same corner, without ever speaking to them. A city is built on these relationships, close in space and distant in every other way. The series looks at Budapest through them, at the moments when that distance briefly shifts: a returned glance, a gesture two strangers share without knowing it, separate lives lining up in one frame for a second.
